Germany gets Samsung I7500 Google Phone - UK next?

O2 Germany has just announced it is getting the new Samsung I7500 Android (Google Phone) for an exclusive release in the summer. Featuring a 5-megapixel camera and AM-OLED display, plus 8GB of onboard memory, the question is; Is O2 UK going to announce it too?

The Samsung I7500 has an impressive specification. The 3G mobile supports HSDPA, HSUPA, as well as old-school EDGE and GPRS for 2G usage. Connectivity includes Micro-USB, Bluetooth V2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g.

The I7500 will come with 8GB of integrated storage space, and a microSDHC slot to accept cards up to 32GB in capacity. It also has GPS (essential for the suite of Google branded applications), full multimedia functions, a 5-megapixel camera with power LED flash and a 1500mAh battery. The 3.2-inch HVGA display (320x480 pixels) is yet another Samsung to use the Active-Matrix OLED display technology that reduces power consumption and offers unrivaled levels of contrast.

The keyboardless device measures 115x56x11.9mm and is due in O2 (Germany) shops in the summer. Pricing is to be confirmed, but hopefully this will mean UK O2 customers could be able to enjoy the first Samsung Android product around the same time.
