Samsung Xplorer B2100 Candybar Handset
Samsung Xplorer B2100 Candybar Handset: The quadband GSM handset offers basic functionality, as there is no 3G data network support, with just 7MB of built-in storage that is offset by a microSD memory card slot. The 1.77-inch screen has 120x160 resolution, while a 1.3-megapixel camera captures still and moving images.
To make it more usable outdoors, Samsung included a loud external speaker, noise cancellation technology and a flashlight. Niceties include an integrated FM radio tuner and Bluetooth 2.1 support. The 1,000mAh battery is rated at 9 hours of talk time or 600 hours of stand-by time.
Its design meets MIL-STD-810F specifications, making it resistant to dust, temperature extremes, shock and underwater submersion of three feet for up to 30 minutes.
The handset is due for an April release in Germany and other, unnamed European countries, though no pricing information has been released yet. It is also unknown whether Samsung will offer the device in the North American market.
